The months of May and June were dedicated to the self-build process, bringing to life the spaces designed during the workshops. Self-building is a method that involves collaboration between both experienced and non-experienced participants in the creation of structures, from furniture to small-scale architecture. In line with the spirit of the participatory process, it fosters mutual understanding, hands-on cooperation, and a stronger sense of belonging.

Across four self-build sessions—ten working days open to the entire community of Varano de’ Melegari and surrounding areas—volunteers worked alongside expert tutors. People of different ages and backgrounds contributed their time, skills, and knowledge to shape the Park’s spaces and build its facilities, strengthening a shared sense of community.
