The Headquarters
A place that welcomes. That invites people to enter, to stay, to build together. The headquarters of Fondazione Caterina Dallara was conceived as a space for the community: an open environment where people can meet, exchange ideas, and bring new initiatives to life. It is designed to host relationships, projects, educational and cultural pathways, as well as both public and private moments.
It represents the culmination of a long period of listening and dialogue with the local community—and, at the same time, a new beginning. It is not a building to be filled, but a place to be lived in, where every presence brings meaning and possibility. An evolving environment, shaped day by day by those who inhabit it, pass through it, and contribute to its growth.
Spaces
A space self-managed by a group of students and remote workers. A place for gathering, quiet study, and exchange.
This area houses the Foundation’s management and administrative offices.
An outdoor space overlooking the park, ideal for informal gatherings, study breaks, and open-air workshops.
A large space available to associations and the community for performances, exhibitions, workshops, meetings, family activities, and more.
Everything began with a question: what will this space be for? Even before designing the rooms, we set out to define its purpose. The spaces were shaped through a participatory process in which the community expressed needs, aspirations, and functions. Only after this shared vision was defined did the design phase begin.
The result is a building that reflects the collective identity of those who imagined it: flexible, accessible, and welcoming. A place that holds the relationships built over time and generates new ones. Today, this headquarters is a reality—ready to give back, in the form of opportunity and openness, the full value of a journey built together.
Headquarters guidelines
The guidelines for the space, developed together with the local community, establish a long-term collaboration between Fondazione Caterina Dallara and the residents of the Val Ceno area. By recognizing the headquarters as a shared community asset, the document outlines values and actions that are collectively upheld, each involving the collaboration of multiple stakeholders.
